A trip to TJ's

I spotted a couple of interesting new items at Trader Joe's the other day. The first was a corn-and-wheat tortilla, seen here with a dollop of salmon salad and some tomatillo wedges on it:


I liked these a lot. I've tried them with traditional Mexican dishes as well as with experiments like the one above.

The other product that followed me home was a can of green olives in a zip-lid can for $1.99:


The ingredients list said olives and salt, so I thought I was buying salt cured olives. Wrong. These are lye-cured olives, like the flavorless canned black olives a lot of us grew up with. These are pretty flavorless, too.
