Four of us went to Nagomi Sushi (1754 Plymouth Drive, Ann Arbor, MI) last night. We ordered a variety of sushi and entrees and it was all excellent. Standouts: The Kamao Nanban ($8.00), which is Udon with roast duck and onions in a rich broth, and the Spider Roll ($9.00), made with soft shell crab. Both of these dishes were so marvelously aromatic that we started ooh-ing and aah-ing before our server even set them on the table.
Nagomi is a small restaurant, hidden in a nondescript strip mall on Plymouth Road, West of North Campus. If you didn't know it was there you might just drive right by. But if you like Japanese food you should make a point of stopping in. The menu is relatively small, but everything we tried was first rate.
